The Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager contributes engineering and design efforts to expand and support HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Process, and Utility Engineering efforts, plus cross-discipline Project Management assignments.
Successful candidates must be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) with additional credentials encouraged and desired.
This is a full time remote salaried position open to US Citizens and Permanent Residents.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience (post-degree)
- Bachelor’s Degree as Mechanical Engineer or Architectural Engineer
- Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Current/Active NCEES registration in good standing
- Previous experience in managing workflow for MEP/FP designers and engineers in the Healthcare or Science/Technology fields
- Operational experience in REVIT
- Operational experience with Microsoft Projects desired but not required
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Function Details
Mechanical Engineer
- Ability to combine personal judgment with information to implement design criteria.
- Has expertise in fire protection, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and utility systems. Knowledge and experience with High Purity, High Pressure Gas, and Ground Support Equipment systems a plus.
- Demonstrates proficiency of mechanical concepts including Psychometrics, Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow both compressible and incompressible.
- Able to use computer software including Trane Trace, eQuest, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Microsoft Projects is a plus. Knowledge of AFT Arrow and Fathom and Caesar also a plus.
- Capable of interpreting information set forth in a Basis of Design, field surveys and code research.
Mechanical Designer
- Develops and implements design criteria and system designs from concept through detailed design and construction.
- Implements criteria for distribution systems, researches applicable codes, and investigates system routing options and equipment room layouts.
- Proficient in the use of design tools such as the Psychrometric Chart, Ductulator, and Pipe Flow.
- Proficient with design drawing software including Revit and AutoCAD. Proficiency in Creo Parametric is a plus.
- Reviews shop drawing submittals, and travels to job sites to perform field verification.
Strong Communication and Organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and as an individual. Strong communication skills with colleagues of all experience levels.
- Uses excellent writing skills to author and edit basis of design (BOD) narratives, design criteria documents and specifications, engineering reports, RFI responses, and other information as needed.
- Reads relevant project correspondence and maintains project design files.
- Directs and mentors subordinate staff of their responsibilities.
Project Management Functions
- Responsible for all projects assigned.
- Maintains open lines of communication with clients.
- Manages client expectations.
- Manages team budgets as assigned.
- Manages and coordinates project schedules and due dates.
- Prepares client project presentations, studies, and reports.
- Manages weekly design team assignments.
- Assists in developing project staffing plans.
- Mentors senior- and junior-level staff.
Expanding Business Functions by Working with Clients
- Secures new sources of viable business and will be required to take the company into previously undeveloped areas of the industry.
- Develops new business relationships, generates and negotiates new revenue streams for the company.
- Requires networking to enhance the company network.
- Promotes and maintains a high level of visibility for the Company’s services and brand and helps coordinate public relations-related efforts.
- Presents the company to potential clients using different types of communication; including face-to-face meetings, presentations, telephone calls, emails, etc.
- Completes pre-qualification procedures with potential clients and consultants.
- Acts as a representative of the company at key exhibitions, conferences, and networking events.
- Adopts a team approach; works with others in pursuing common goals.
- Maintains high-level relationships with the Company’s existing clients and partners.
